Packing can be all of it, some of it, or just the things you would rather not be responsible for. Kitchens, artwork and electronics are where most self-packed damage happens, and they are the most common partial-pack request.

Worth knowing
Insurance is the reason this matters beyond convenience. Damage to a carton you packed yourself is generally not covered the way a professionally packed carton is. If a box holds something you cannot replace, let the crew pack it.
